Charles Thibodeaux and the Austin Cajun Aces

Although recently formed and hailing from a Texas town not known for its Cajun roots, the Austin Cajun Aces is steeped in Texas Cajun tradition. Fronted by Cajun accordionist Charles Thibodeaux, whose musical mentor and hero is the great Texas Cajun accordionist Andrew Cormier, the Aces play the music Charles grew up with in dancehalls, community centers, and clubs throughout Southeast Texas. He is joined at the festival by Peter Swartz on fiddle and Steve Doerr on guitar. They are a lean musical operation with a front porch kind of sound that is still undeniably danceable.
