| Trio Roi Maceda
This musical threesome lives in and plays the traditional music of Galicia, the most northwestern section of Spain. Galicia has a distinctive history and culture that is influenced by its proximity to Portugal and the influence of sea-going Celts who who settled in the region very early. As a result, Galician music bears a great deal of resemblance to Scottish and Irish music. Hence, the instrumentation of the group - guitar, violin and, of course, accordion - reflects this. The accordionist, Roi Maceda is a founder of the popular ensemble, Quempallou, known for its bouyant traditonal style. He is joined in the trio by veteran musicians Juan Fasero on guitar and Ricardo Morente on violin.
